HISTORY OF INFOMAG

The history of INFOMAG started in
the year 2016 during the NAHIMS SOUTH WEST EXECUTIVE ably led by Oyebanji Oluwa
juwonlo Esq. 2016/2018
set.
In
that tenure com. Adepoju Daniel, the NAHIMS SW P.R.O brought about new
Innovations into the NAHIMS SW.
These innovations include:
- - NAHIMS SW Website
- - More NAHIMS SW pages
- - SHIMGA (School of H.I.M. Games)
- - INFOMAG E.T.C.
The executive adopted these
innovations during its first meeting held at School of Hygiene Eleyele, Ibadan,
Oyo State on the 29th October 2016 and later on the 24th November
of that Year the first issue was released
This issue had News on the
following
- - HIM Sector in Nigeria
- - Educational aspect of HIM
- - News on the HAHIMS South West
- - News on HIMAN & HROBN
- - Event happening in different Schools
- - Student of the Month
- - E.T.C
The Information Magazine had 3 Editions
before of that same tenure.
This INFOMAG was created to show
forth interesting creative heritage and diversely rich culture of the H.I.M. as
Nigeria and International body is
concern, it also show forth what is happening or current trends both in the
country & in the profession.
It
was also created as a tool that will bring all HIM students in Nigeria and
beyond together. Copies of the Magazine initially were sent to scholars of the
profession the US – AMERICA HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (AHIMA).
This
INFOMAG was viewed electronically due to financial constrains but as time goes by the
INFOMAG is also printed for more physical consumption (HARDCOPY) this started
in the January to April Edition.
The
INFOMAG is Governed and Chaired by the NAHIMS SW P.R.O. He or She has an Editorial Board and
Publicity Committee that assist the P.R.O. in the Publication and Issuance of
the Magazine.
The
Information Magazine is currently chaired by Comrade David Dhele Debekeme the
NAHIMS SW P.R.O.
The
Information Magazine till date remains a Capital Signature of NAHIMS SW which
helps in bringing Students & Professionals of Health Information Management
together.
